As of Monday, June 1, 2015 - The City of Waterloo Animal Control Services has contracted with Cedar Bend Humane Society for the boarding and caring of stray domestic animals including roaming cats. Phone numbers remain the same:

Pet owners will need to redeem their dogs/cats at the Cedar Bend Humane Society – 1166 W. Airline Hwy., Waterloo – during working hours.
The Following Services are Provided by the City:
- Barking Dog Complaints
- Unsanitary Conditions Complaints
- Too Many Animals (per household) Calls
- Dog at Large Calls
- Pick up of Confined Domestic Animals
- Pick up of all Dead Animals (except owner’s animals)
- Neglected, Abused or Abandoned Animals
- Potentially Dangerous Dog Calls
- Aggressive Domestic Animal Calls
- Sick or Injured Domestic Animals
- Pick Up of “ONLY” Injured/Sick Wildlife
- Investigate All Bite Cases Within the City Limits
The following services are provided to Cedar Falls :
- Dogs at Large Calls
- Pick up of Confined Domestic Animals
- Pick up of All Dead Animals (except owner’s animals)
- Neglected, Abused or Abandoned Animals
- Unsanitary Condition Complaints
- Potentially Dangerous Dog Calls
- Investigate All Bite Cases within the City Limits
- Pick up of ONLY injured/sick wildlife
Regular hours – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm – Monday thru Sunday
On Call After Hours
Animals can be redeemed at the Cedar Bend Humane Society during working hours.
Redemption Fees:
- City of Waterloo Redemption Fee - $25.00
- This does not include Cedar Bend Humane Society fees.
