WASHINGTON, DC – Mayor Hart was recently honored with the Mayoral Service Award at the US Conference of Mayors in our nation’s capital.
The award was presented as part of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission’s Dream Keeper initiative, created to foster hope and inspire African-Americans to dream boldly.

Now beginning his fifth term, Hart is the first African-American to hold the office.

His acceptance speech gave Hart the opportunity to highlight Waterloo Fiber, the city’s broadband initiative bringing high-speed internet to every neighborhood in the community, as a wonderful example of digital equity.
