National Ag Day Celebrations in Waterloo

On National Ag Day, March 23rd, Waterloo was the home to many Thank you celebrations hosted by the Iowa Pork Association. The “Thank You" events were for the support  Waterloo business and residents gave during the past 12 month, as the community lifted spirits and provided inspiration for Iowa’s pig farmers and all of those involved in pork production.

In the morning, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig  presented the Ag Leader Award for Leadership in Community to the Iowa Food Bank Association (IFBA), headquartered in Waterloo. IFBA represents the six food banks operating across Iowa, which were integral in distributing meat donations to Iowans impacted by work reduction and job losses caused by COVID-19.
