The City of Waterloo, Iowa launched an official City Hall page to provide quick access to news and information from across departments. The City of Waterloo, Iowa - City Hall Facebook page will share positive news of events, people, projects, and places in the city. It will also share important information about city services from our various departments and partner organizations.
“Many City departments already have Facebook pages and do a great job of interacting with the public about their specific services and offerings,” says Wendy Bowman, Waterloo Communications Director. “The new City Hall page is an aggregate page, pulling in important posts from all City departments and partner organizations such as Main Street Waterloo, Waterloo Community Schools, Travel Waterloo and more.”
The page will serve as a tool to educate residence about codes and ordinances they may not be familiar with, answer frequently asked questions, and help residence better understand how city government functions. Important development projects, new businesses, awards and distinctions given to the City and its employees will give followers a sense of the positive things taking place.
Stronger social media presence is one initiative to reach the City’s strategic goal to improve community image.
“Facebook is a great place to tell our story. We can reach thousands of people every day in the region, across the state, and across the country and show them what a great place Waterloo, Iowa is to build a business, build a family, build a life,” adds Bowman.
The public is encouraged to visit, like, and share the page by going to www.facebook.com/WaterlooIACityHall
