Waterloo Regional Airport Seeking Public Input

The City of Waterloo, Airport Board and Staff, along with Grow Cedar Valley’s Air Service Working Group, is seeking a combination of both public comment and that of the business community as to what direction the traveling public would prefer and support.

The Waterloo Regional Airport is supported financially by the USDOT for flights on American Airlines to Chicago with 2 flights Sunday through Friday and 1 flight on Saturday (13 weekly round trips).  An additional Saturday flight is currently being offered through August 2019.

During the summer of 2019, the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Office of Aviation Analysis, will again place the air service from Waterloo Regional Airport out to bid.


Waterloo Regional Airport offers 50-minute direct commercial flights to Chicago O’Hare International Airport for connecting flights to over 700 cities worldwide.

Waterloo Regional Airport has an Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and General Aviation (GA) facilities, including hangar rentals and a full-service Fixed Base Operator (FBO), Livingston Aviation. In addition, the Army National Guard has assigned helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft using the Airport to support its flight operations.

The Airport is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The ATCT is open daily from 6 a.m. local – 8:00 p.m. local.
